Dr. Joe Horst received his dental training at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Throughout his training in Minnesota he was an active participant in the school’s student chapter of the Academy of General Dentistry, including serving as the vice president. During his senior year he was awarded the Academy of General Dentistry University of Minnesota Senior Leaders Award for “…having exhibited the greatest leadership, interest, knowledge, and proficiency in the field of general dentistry…”
Dr. Horst and his wife, Terra, met in Idaho during their undergraduate degrees when Dr. Horst invited her to a “study group” (you’ll want to hear both sides of the story). Following that fateful encounter, they have since lived in Utah and Minnesota, pursuing educational and work opportunities. Along the way, they have been joined by three strong, beautiful and energetic girls, Cambria, Ava and Noa.
The Horst family is ecstatic to be in Fort Collins! They are excited to be closer to family and be back near the mountains.
In his free time Dr. Horst loves endurance sports and has completed “Grandma’s Marathon” in Duluth, MN twice and “Heck of the North” a 100 mile gravel bike race in Grand Marais, MN. He particularly loves all things mountain and gravel biking. You will also find him spending time with his family, woodworking, and trying to catch the latest Premier League soccer match.
Dr. Horst is passionate about the dental care he provides. He cares deeply about providing high quality and compassionate care. He looks forward to serving Fort Collins!
